In recent years, the Government of Pakistan has been promoting green transportation projects to address air pollution and improve people’s quality of life. The 27 E12PRO battery electric buses delivered this time were purchased by PTC, a subsidiary of the Punjab Provincial Transport Authority.

The Chief Minister of Punjab swiped her card to get on the bus, becoming the first passenger.
This delivery not only makes PTC the operator of the largest battery electric bus fleet in the region but also introduces a more environmentally friendly and efficient public transport solution to Lahore, Pakistan’s most economically dynamic and second most populous city.

Since entering the Pakistani market in 2008, Yutong has become the dominant Chinese bus brand in the region, with over 2,800 units sold. Beyond exports, Yutong has significantly boosted local manufacturing capabilities through technical support. In 2015, Yutong’s KD factory in Pakistan began operations, becoming the largest and most technologically advanced facility in the local bus industry. This strategic investment introduced significant technological advancements to the local market.
This latest delivery signifies a successful partnership and strengthened China-Pakistan collaboration in sustainable development. As more new energy vehicles are adopted, Pakistan’s green transportation network will continue to expand, creating a cleaner and healthier environment for locals.
