Recently, Italy’s bus operator Asf Autolinee officially took over 23 Yutong battery electric buses. The introduction of these new vehicles will fully electrify four main bus lines in Como, including Line 1, Line 2, Line 6, and Line 11, marking a significant step towards sustainable public transit.
The delivered buses include Yutong E12 and E10, of which 14 units are 10.9m-long E10 and 9 units are 12.17m-long E12. E12, with a maximum capacity for 65 passengers, comes with a manual ramp for easy wheelchair access. Additionally, these buses are equipped with an auxiliary braking system to enhance driving safety. Notably, E12 boasts a battery capacity of 422.87 kWh, providing extended range to ensure stable daily operations.
ASF’s switch to electric buses is a game-changer for local transit quality and a big win for the environment. These new electric vehicles are expected to slash CO2 emissions by about 1,300 tons each year. To put that into perspective, it’s like planting a forest the size of 3,575 football fields to offset the same amount of carbon. This move will significantly reduce the city’s carbon footprint, offering Como’s residents a cleaner and quieter commute.
With innovative technologies and sustainable solutions, Yutong is committed to helping the global urban transportation move towards a more environmentally friendly and efficient direction and providing a better travel experience for the public.
